where to cool, interesting data & data stories?

As I have ascended into the corporate world where I am working with a vast amount of data that doesn’t spark as much joy as data pulled from wikimedia, I am constantly engaging for a variety of weird and unique data stories that don’t just drive and emphasize stakeholder value or business use cases.

Data & Eggs - This is run by theDataFace (a staple in the data community)
Information is Beautiful - A staple in the information community
Data is Plural - I first discovered this during my time at LOC!!
data.gov - this one is basic but also a goodie. open data is cool!!! especially from our weird govts (local, state and federal)
Perthirtysix - The BEST data stories around truly.

if all else fails MAKE YOUR OWN!!!

geopy - great for developing your own geo datasets json - you can just write one up seriously webscraping - AI ruined this (dont overload websites ok they have enough bots and crawlers to deal with now) but keep it small and have some fun!!
